Lingling Ancient Town opened to public in Hunan

After nearly two years’ construction, Lingling Ancient Town opened to the public on June 18. Located in the Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, Lingling Ancient Town comprises Liu Zongyuan’s former residence and different studios for displaying intangible cultural heritage.

 

Lingling Ancient Town is the key project of “13th Five -Year Plan” of Hunan Province. The total investment is 3.44 billion RMB. Covering an area of more than 50,000 square meters, 215 shops have settled down in the town. The daily flow volume is about 100,000. 

 

On the opening ceremony of Lingling Ancient Town, various kinds of activities, such as cultural street tour, folk custom vaudeville, poem appreciation activity and sacrificial ceremony were showed to the visitors. The government officers, representatives of investors, media, marketing directors and visitors witnessed this historic event of Lingling together.

 

The officer of Yongzhou Municipal Committee, Tang Xianglin said that Lingling Ancient Town will help promote the development of the new tourism industry formats in Yongzhou. Yongzhou Municipal Committee will take the opportunity of the ancient town to enhance the market value of tourism resources and make Yongzhou become the influential cultural tourism city in Hunan Province and in China.
