First China Great Wall International Photography Week begins in Beijing

On August 8, the first ever international photography event named after the Great Wall – 2019 China Great Wall International Photography Week – has started at Badaling Great Wall in Beijing. As the first event of the week, the opening ceremony attracted over a hundred “Great Wall Photographers” near Badaling region, who witnessed this unforgettable moment.

 

There are seven themed exhibitions in total with an area of 20,000 square meters, including more than 1,500 large photos from over 300 photographers. The photographic works are exhibited along a 1.6-km-long road at the Badaling section of the Great Wall, located in Beijing's Yanqing District. The exhibition area was elaborately scheduled and designed to make photos and the Great Wall in harmony, in order to present viewers the most magnificent visual experience from all angles.

 

Tourists will not only be able to enjoy the grand view of the Great Wall but also take a glimpse of its history and culture. One of the themed exhibition features views of the Great Wall from 1850 to 1949, through works from museums, galleries, libraries and collectors, from home and abroad.

 

As a large-scale outdoor exhibition of giant photographic works, the Photography Week exhibition will approximately last for a month.
