Direct flight links Haikou and Malaysia's Kuching

Malindo Air of Malaysia opens a direct flight on January 17thbetween Haikou, the capital of south China's Hainan Province, and Kuching, the capital of Sarawak in Malaysia. Two round trips are scheduled every week on Monday and Thursday.

 

The air route is operated by Boeing 737 aircraft, which is the first international flight launched in Haikou this year. The outbound Flight OD679 leaves from Haikou Meilan Internatioanl Airport at 03:15 Beijing time and arrives at Kuching International Airport at 07:20 local time. The flight time is 4 hours. Flight OD768 departs from Kuching at 22:35 and arrives in Haikou at 02:15 (+1) Beijing time.

 

According to Haikou Municipal Tourism Development Commission, Haikou intends to launch seven to nine international air routes in 2019, which will increase the number of international air routes from Haikou Meilan International Airport to 44 this year. With the aim of establishing the city as southern China's key center for tourism, Haikou is extending its premium and all-embracing service to visitors around the world.
