China Wujiang Miao People Huashan Festival to be open in May

According to the News Conference, the “2019 · the 8th China Wujiang Miao People Huashan Festival · China Pengshui Water Sports Competition”, will open on May 12th, 2019. In the future, a variety of activities will run to the public through December.

 

The opening ceremony of the festival will be held in Chiyou Jiulicheng - the largest traditional Miao Architectural Complex in China on May 12th, 2019. On May 13th, there will be a Miao Song Party of the Festival for the visitors to enjoy. In addition, the Miao Singing and Dancing Bonfire Party will also be held in Chiyou Jiulicheng from May to October, 2019.

 

The 8th Wujiang River Valley Special Agricultural Products and Food Exhibition, and the 2019 China Miao Culture International Tourism Festival & the 2019 · 5th Chiyou Jiulicheng Temple Fair will be respectively held during October 1st to 10th, 2019.

 

Miao People is one of the minority groups in China. Believed as the descendants of Chi You, Miao People thrived along the Yellow River and Yangtze River as a main tribe and built the Sanmiao Kingdom there over 5000 years ago. Most of the Miao people live primarily in southern China, in the provinces of Guizhou, Hunan, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Hainan, Guangdong, and Hubei.
