Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Rail Launched Today

Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway is launched today with the whole railway line of 2298 kilometers. As a landmark of China’s railway system, the high-speed rail is the longest around the world with major stopovers at Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan and Changsha.

 

Railway ticket prices are announced today. The high-speed train will be divided into four classes. From Beijing to Guangzhou, second class seat costs 940 RMB; first class seat is 1484 RMB; VIP seat 1765 RMB; and business class seat 2927 RMB.

 

Since today, the high-speed rail Beijing-Zhengzhou, Zhengzhou-Wuhan, Wuhan-Guangzhou, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen will be linked to form the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway system. This train will realize the separate transportation of goods and passengers, and shorten the travelling time between Beijing and Guangzhou to 8 hours.
