The subway connecting to Beijing Daxing International Airport starts operation

The subway line linking downtown Beijing with the new Beijing Daxing International Airport officially opens to the public on September 24th.

 

The subway line initially operates three stations for Caoqiao, Daxing Xincheng Station and the airport. The subway line stretches 41.4 kilometers and the new line supports an autopilot system, which can run at a speed of up to 160 kilometer per hour. The ride from Caoqiao Station to the airport only takes for 19 minutes.

The subway runs from 06:00 to 22:30, and during peak hours, it leaves for every 8.5 minutes. During normal hours, it leaves for every 10 minute s.

 

The ticketing system of the subway line is available for several payment options, including cash and mobile transactions. There are currently four types of tickets for the subway ride, such as one-way and air-rail transit tickets, with the fares ranging from 10 to 35 RMB.

 

Beijing Daxing International Airport is expected to handle 45 million passengers by the end of this year and 72 million annually by 2025. The main terminal building, service building, parking building, and transportation system together cover for about 1.43 million square meters. The terminal complex would become the world's largest single airport terminal.
