Direct flight between Chengdu and Mauritius launched

A new air route between Chengdu and Mauritius formally began to launch by Air Mauritius on July 7th. It is also the first air route linked the western China and Africa.

 

The flights use the Airbus 340-300 aircraft which has 298 seats. The flights run once a week. It takes about 10 hours per single trip.

 

The flight from Chengdu to Mauritius departs at 23:30 every Tuesday and lands in Mauritius at 05:35 local time the following day. The flight from Mauritius to Chengdu leaves at 16:00 and arrives at 06:15 local time the following day.

 

The launch of the air route makes Chengdu the 4th city in China which has direct flights linked with Mauritius, after Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

 

The new air route will help boost tourism and business between the two regions. Mauritius is known as a popular honeymoon destination while Chengdu is regarded as the China's Best Tourist City.
