A mutual visa free policy between China and BiH will go into effect on May 29, 2018. On the basis of the agreement, holders of valid ordinary passports of both countries' citizens could be exempted from visas to enter, leave, stay or transit in each other's country, and will stay for a maximum of 90 days per 180 days.

According to the news of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in BiH, on May 4, the Chinese ambassador to BiH Chen Bo submitted a third notification to the Bosnian Foreign Minister Ilga Krnadak at a meeting held in the capital of BiH to confirm that both China and BiH have completed the internal procedures. After meeting, both sides confirmed the agreement.

In November 2017, China and BiH came to the agreement at the China-CEEC sixth meeting which was held in Budapest, Hungary. After the official implementation of this policy in May this year, it is believed that the tourism industry in the both two countries will be developed better.
