A themed post office opens in Tibet

On May 29th, Tibet opened a themed post office at the foot of Mount Kangrinboqe in Ngari Prefecture. The theme of the post office is holy mountains and lakes, which can provide visitors with stamps, cultural and creative products and souvenirs.

 

With a cost of 800,000 RMB (about $ 125,000), the post office is 120km away from the Kaplan County. The post office integrates the specialty products, delivery, souvenirs and postmarks, which is convenient for the post lovers to enjoy the distinctive service in the beautiful Tibet.

 

Mount Kangrinboqe is the famous tourist attraction in Tibet. The mountain is 6,656 meters above the sea level and is located in the Kaplan County, Ngari Sanai. The lake Mapam Yumco is about 20 km to the southeast of the mountain, which is the famous "holy lake" in Buddhism and Hinduism. It is 4,588 meters above the sea level and covers an area of 412 square kilometers. The themed post office will attract a large number of tourists every year. It can help boost the tourism industry, and promote the economic development in Tibet.
