The Fifth Shijingshan Ice and Snow Festival opened in Shijingshan District, Beijing on November 5th. During the opening ceremony, the Shijingshan District Delegation of the First Beijing Winter Games was announced to be established.
The Shijingshan Ice and Snow Festival was sponsored by Shijingshan District and co-organized by Shijingshan Sports School, Ice and Snow Sports Association and Tus Ice & Snow Group. The opening ceremony was attended by more than 100 ice and snow sports’ experts and athletes. The festival in Shijingshan is a part of the First Beijing Winter Games, which is open between November, 2018 and January, 2019.
According to sports authorities in Shijingshan District, Shijingshan is aimed to build winter sports teams and cultivating high-level coaches and strive to achieve good results in the winter games. As for the promotion of mass winter sports, the district will continue to host various winter sports events to the public. So as to further increase winter sports popularity, popularize Winter Olympic knowledge and make a contribution to the 2022 Winter Olympics.
