The 9th Silk Road Ice and Snow Festival Opened

The 9th Silk Road Ice and Snow Festival opened on December 28 at Nanshan Ski Resort in Urumqi, capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

 

Honored guests from Thailand, Uzbekistan and Singapore have been invited to attend the openning ceremony.

 

This year’s Silk Road Ice and Snow Festival aims to showcase multinational cultures, expand tourism market in winter, and further create the image of Urumqi as a world ice and snow city for tourists.

 

The festival runs from December 28, 2011 to February 28, 2012, during which Ice and Snow Garden Party, Skiing activities and other highlights will be held.
