The largest glass Buddha statue in the world, created by Loretta Yang from Taiwan, is on display at Grand Gateway Plaza in Xujiahui, Shanghai.

The statue is 2 meters tall, featuring Guanyin with 1,000 arms in a standing position, reproduced from the mural at Cave No 3 in Mogao Grottos at Dunhuang, in northwestern China's Gansu province. The mural dates back more than 1,000 years. Yang, an award-winning actress turned glass sculptor, has been determined to reproduce the statue since she first saw it in 1996.

The free exhibition at the ground-floor lobby of the mall also features other glass sculptures of Buddhism themes, all created by Yang and Chang.
