From Oct. 30, Shanghai's two major airports, Pudong and Hongqiao international airports, will execute a new smoking policy that passengers are prohibited smoking inside terminal buildings and all indoor smoking rooms are closed.

"The new ban is accord with the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control as well as the city's new smoking control regulation," an airport authority said.

Both two airports will provide new outdoor smoking areas to smokers, and the signs will guide smokers to the designated areas. Pudong international airport is going to set up two outdoor smoking areas at T1 terminal and three at T2 terminal; Hongqiao international airport will set up two outdoor smoking areas at each terminal, T1 and T2.
