According to the Sichuan Airlines, a new direct flight will be launched since December 10th. The flight will connect Chengdu, known as the "Country of Heaven", with Copenhagen, the capital and most populous city of Denmark. Copenhagen is also the fifth European destination opened by Sichuan Airlines after Moscow, Prague, St. Petersburg and Zurich.

The new air route will be operated by Airbus A330 aircraft of Sichuan Airlines. The flight 3U8271 will depart from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 01:50 a.m. Beijing time every Tuesday and Friday. It will arrive in Copenhagen at 05:45 a.m. local time. The return flight 3U8272 is scheduled to leave Copenhagen at 13:10 p.m. local time, and arrive in Chengdu at 06:00 (+1) a.m. Beijing time.

Chengdu now has become one of the most important economic, commercial, cultural, transportation, and communication centers in western China. The new air route will help further enhance Chengdu's global accessibility. There will be at least three regular direct flights between Chengdu and each continent. Up to now, Chengdu has 110 flights connecting with different regions and countries, which is still the most in the central and western regions of China.
