Organized by Taiyuan municipal government, the First Shanxi Cultural Fair was held from June 29 to July 3 at the Coal Trade Center in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province.
More than 10,000 cultural products were collected for the fair. Except for displaying all categories of cultural products, the fair also invited skillful craftsmen to show their master-hand on making paper-cuts, New Year woodblock prints, paper-making for Chinese painting and calligraphy, and embroidering.
Owning a long history and profound culture, Shanxi Province is rich in cultural tourism recourse including Pingyao Ancient City and Qiao Family Compound. Shanxi Province aims to develop the cultural tourism into one of the pillar industries of local economy.
