Direct flight links China and Cambodia

A new direct flight was launched on September 10th, linking Guangzhou City, the capital of south China's Guangdong Province, and Sihanoukville, the third Cambodian city with a direct flight to Guangzhou. According to the local authority, this new air route will be operated by Cambodia's JC International Airlines. Sihanoukville, a major tourist city, is the third Cambodian city with a direct flight to Guangzhou.

 

The flight is scheduled to depart from Sihanoukville at 10:50 p.m. local time and arrive in Guangzhou at 02:25 a.m. Beijing time on a daily basis. The return flight will take off at 03:25 a.m. Beijing time from Guangzhou and will arrive in Sihanoukville at around 05:10 a.m. local time.

 

According to the statistics released by Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, more than 663,000 passengers traveled between Guangzhou and Cambodia in 2017, with an increase of 41.6 percent year on year. Guangzhou is the third biggest city in China after Beijing and Shanghai with a population of more than 12 million. Founded in 214 BC, the city has been a springboard for trading, cultural exchanges, many revolutions and reforms, making it an unavoidable stopover to understand what shapes the modern China.
