According to Chongqing’s Jiangbei District, the solo exhibition “Cross-shaped Font” by Chinese contemporary abstract artist Ding Yi opens at the Long Museum (Chongqing Hall). The exhibition will last until December 20.

The exhibition is divided into two chapters. Din Yi’s recent large-scale painting works and the creation system with “cross” as the basic image element for more than 30 years, are presented here in a centralized manner and displayed to the public for free.

When you enter the exhibition hall, the first thing that strikes your eyes is the countless “cross”. These “cross” or jump smart, or calm and orderly, or colorful, or only light and shadow.

During the different periods, the artist Ding Yi constantly tried new methods in his creation, experimented in multiple dimensions and obtained distinctive vocabulary, brushwork, grammar and rhetoric from it, making the "cross" change from a basic symbol to an expression that embraces multiple grammars system.
