Featuring works from a hundred contemporary calligraphers, a special exhibition Glory of the Nation raised its curtain at the National Museum of China on Monday.

The joint exhibition is held by the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the China Literature and Art Foundation and the National Museum of China. All exhibits are works of today’s Chinese veteran calligraphers.

The exhibition focuses on outstanding representative figures of traditional Chinese culture. To depict heroes, elites and great leaders among Chinese history spanning thousands of years, calligraphers mainly wrote down the biography of those figures or excerpts from real history records based on selection from scholars specializing in the history of China.

If you go:

09:00 — 17:00, Mondays closed. The National Museum of China is on the eastern side of Tian’anmen Square, NO.16, East Chang’an Avenue, Dongcheng District.

The pieces will be taken to the museum's permanent collection after the exhibition, which runs through Oct 30.
