New air route between Beijing and Melbourne was launched by Air China on June 1. Air China, one of the country's leading carriers, also becomes the only airline to offer such service.

Four direct flights are available in a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The airline also plans to expand it to a daily flight from October 25, 2015. Airbus A330-200 aircraft is used in the air route to bring passengers a comfortable flight.

Melbourne, the capital of the State of Victoria, is the second biggest city of Australia. China has been the largest trading partner of Melbourne for years. The launch of the direct flights will promote Sino- Australian trade and tourism.
