On 13th December, 2016, the Airbus A330-200 took off from Guangzhou, packed with over 190 passengers, arrived at the capital of Southern Australia, Adelaide, after flying about 9 hours. This is the first direct flight, and the sixth flight that China Southern offers between Guangzhou and a capital city in Australia.

The Airbus, with 216 seats, takes off from Guangzhou at 22:00 every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night, and arrives in Adelaide at 09:30 in the next day. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, it returns to Guangzhou from Adelaide at 11:00, arrives in destination at 17:40 on the same day (all local time).

The new direct flight will help attract more than 120,000 visitors to Adelaide, and provide 100 to 150 employments, expected by South Australian government. Statistically, the state has served 38,000 Chinese visitors up to the end of September, 2016, increased by 31% compared with previous year.

Recently, a new deal that removes all capacity restrictions and liberalizes traffic rights between Australian and Chinese governments was concluded.

This partnership will not only provide positive impacts for tourism, trade, education and investments of Australia, but will create hundreds of jobs across the state.
