On December 16th, high-speed railway linking Chengdu and Guiyang opens to traffic. The railway runs across the complex landscape of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan provinces, and it is the world's first high-speed railway among mountains.

This high-speed railway helps shorten the journey time between the two capital cities of Southwest China's Sichuan Province to Guizhou Province to 2 hours 58 minutes. There are 24 stations along the line. With a total investment of 78 billion RMB, the railway is 648 kilometers long, with the design speed of 250 kilometers per hour.

Guiyang is the capital city of Guizhou Province, and locates on the eastern side of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Guiyang is famous for the various minority ethnic group villages, including Miao, Buyi, Dong and Hui. Guiyang is surrounded by mountains and forests and enjoys warm and moist subtropical climate.
