Designed to take pressure off overcrowded Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing new international airport’s main construction work will be completed by the end of this year. According to the local authorities, the new airport will meet navigation conditions by October 2019.

The new airport is located 46 kilometers south of downtown Beijing. Now the construction project of the airport is going smoothly. The Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development said that, they have completed the terminals, and they are still working on the internal decorations and the equipment installation.

There are four runways and 268 aircraft stands according to the design plan. The appearance of the terminal is like a golden phoenix. The terminal area of the new airport is about 700,000 square meters. With creative and convenient designs, the terminal will greatly shorten the distance between check-in and boarding. Passengers can save time for luggage claim and reduce the waiting time.

Beijing new airport locates at the junction of Beijing's Daxing District and Langfang, a city in Hebei Province. It is designed as per the concept of the large international hub airport. After putting into use, the new airport’s long-term annual passenger throughput will be one hundred million.
