240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in China

 

China is implementing a 10-day (240 hours) visa-free transit policy. The transit program allows visitors who have existing flight bookings from China to a third country (region) to snag a visa on arrival at a Chinese airport (port) and stay for 10 days before departure. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan all count as third destinations.

 

Passport holders of 54 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, can enter visa-free through any of the 60 open airports (ports) in 24 provincial regions, covering popular tourist cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Chengdu and Guangzhou.

3 Sisters’ Meal Festival
  • Sisters’ Meal Festival is a celebration of love and spring. It falls on the 15th day of March in the lunar calendar and lasts 3 days. At the time of the gathering, young girls wear their most beautiful dresses and delicate silver accessories to attract the young men. A kaleidoscope of ethnic costumes will provide you an exotic fashion show.

     

    Itinerary of the Sisters’ Meal Festival

     

    Day 1 Guiyang

    Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel.

     

    Day 2 Guiyang - Kaili

    In the morning, take a car ride to Kaili and explore Qingman Short-skirt Miao Village. Then visit the Shiqiao Miao Village and see its traditional way of making paper from the bark of mulberry tree.

     

    Day 3 Kaili - Shidong - Kaili

    Today, take a car ride to Shidong and join in the Sisters’ Meal Festival.

    Later, transfer back to the hotel in Kaili.

     

    Day 4 Kaili - Guiyang

    Transfer from Kaili to the airport in Guiyang for your departure.

4 Lusheng Festival
  • During the Lusheng Festival, the Miao people come from far and near to attend this gathering. Hundreds of the Lusheng (a reed instrument) in dozens of groups are simultaneously played by the boys and the music is reverberating far and wide. The Miao girls wearing silver-decorated ethnic costumes are dancing together to the rhythms, forming one circle after another together on the playing ground, and appearing a silver swirling sea.

    Day 1 Guiyang

    Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel.

     

    Day 2 Guiyang - Kaili

    Day 3 Kaili - Huangping - Kaili

    Take a car ride to Huangping County and join in the Lusheng Festival in Chong'anjiang.

    Later, transfer back to the hotel in Kaili.

    Take a car ride to Huangping County and join in the Lusheng Festival in Gulong.

    Later, transfer back to the hotel in Kaili.

     

    Day 5 Kaili - Guiyang

    Transfer from Kaili to the airport in Guiyang for your departure.

5 Sacrifice to Heaven Festival
  • The Festival of Sacrifice to Heaven is a special celebration of the Dong Ethnic Group. It is originated from the Huanggang Village near Zhaoxing in Guizhou. During the Festival, local people sacrifice livestock to the gods and thousands of villagers pray for good harvest by shouting to the gods for 2 - 3 hours. After the sacrificial rites, they will have a traditional banquet and sing folk songs together.

    Day 1 Guiyang

    Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel.

     

    Day 2 Guiyang - Kaili

    In the morning, take a car ride to Kaili and visit the Matang Miao Village and Kaili Museum.

     

    Day 3 Kaili - Rongjiang

    Today visit the Langde Miao Village and the Shiqiao Miao Village and see its traditional way of making paper from the bark of mulberry tree. Then take a car ride to Rongjiang.

     

    Day 4 Rongjiang - Congjiang

    Today, take a car ride to Congjiang and visit the Dali Dong Village and the Basha Miao Village en route.

     

    Day 5 Congjiang - Huanggang - Zhaoxing

    Take a car ride to Huanggang and join in the Festival of Sacrifice to Heaven.

    Then transfer to the hotel in Zhaoxing.

     

    Day 6 Zhaoxing

    Today, take a visit to the Zhaoxing Dong Village and Tang’an Dong Villages with its surrounding terraced fields.

     

    Day 7 Zhaoxing - Sanjiang

    In the morning, take car ride to Sanjiang. Visit the Chengyang Village Clusters. Then admire the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge.

     

    Day 8 Sanjiang - Longsheng - Guilin

    Take a car ride to Longsheng County and pay a visit to Longsheng Dragon Spine Rice Terraces.

    Then take a car ride to Guilin.
